Finely Woven Antique Haji Jalili Tabriz Carpet 1011, Country of Origin: Persia, Circa: 1900 — Like many other Tabriz carpets by Haji Jalili, this one uses several borders to layer against each other, creating an elegant effect that seems to draw the viewer’s eye inward to the center of the work. Amidst the blue background, there are beautiful instances of crimson petals and stems, creating a natural flow in the floral motifs present along the piece. At the center of the rug is a beautiful depiction of flora sprawling outward from an elegant piece of pottery. Attention is drawn to every line through the use of the blue background, creating an almost starry nightscape.
